success story in words

Elisabeth is known as a "down-to-earth Schönaicher who always sets her sights high and wants to finish everything she does as best as possible." In 1988 she discovered nature on a tricycle - later she came to cycling via detours such as ballet, judo, swimming and motorcycling. Musically she learned the flute and guitar, she would have loved to play the drums and caught up on this later. In 1993, when she was in the third grade, she won a Germany-wide painting competition for primary schools with the motto: "What we like to do most with our friends!" Cycling, of course :-) She painted two cyclists from the front! This already showed her affinity for two-wheelers. When Elisabeth was discovered by her local club RSC-Schönaich during the play holidays in 1998, things quickly went uphill. Setbacks made Elisabeth stronger, even when she dislocated her elbow right at the beginning of 1999 because she couldn't get out of the clipless pedals. But in 2000 she was allowed to take part in the German Youth Road Championships and finished in the top 15. In November 2000 a terrible event happened. She lost a fellow cyclist from her club to murder. There was an unbearable silence in all her surroundings. Elisabeth found a way to deal with her grief in cycling and in 2001 she came second in the German Road Championships and was German Cross Country Champion. In 2002 and 2003 she won almost everything as a junior in road racing, including becoming German Hill Climb Champion every year. Her high school did not tolerate the sport and the absences, but her parents did not offer her the option of a boarding school. So she dropped out of school and completed her first vocational training as a refrigeration engineer, hoping that it would be a better option for the sport. After the 2003 Junior World Championships in Canada, Elisabeth gave up road racing with a heavy heart. It was not entirely her will; an eating disorder and the influence of outside influences, not the chance of a professional sporting life, became too great. She continued to cycle in her free time with great joy. In 2006 Elisabeth had the opportunity to take part in the 24-hour race in Munich. She then bought her first MTB and incorporated off-road riding into her free time. In the autumn of 2007, friends persuaded her to do her first long marathon, so she rode the long distance in St. Ingbert and immediately became German amateur champion. There she made contact with her first MTB team. A training pass and cool teammates enabled her to have a good winter. Despite the master's school and the job, she did not let anything stop her again and got a license for 2008. In 2008 she became German champion for the first time, and on the MTB, even though the then newly crowned Olympic champion Sabine Spitz was also at the start. This gave her a boost, and racing fever was back. The national team took notice, and so Elisabeth had to get used to the riding technique, as the Olympic discipline of "cross country" was getting closer. She won many marathons up until 2010, but the riding technique continued to bother her. It was only when she was allowed to start for the Sabine Spitz Haibike Team in 2011 that she took a career break and found time to intensify her technical training. But for her mind, she continued to attend evening school to become a building energy consultant, which she used to start her own business for the first time.In 2011, she won the first Bundesliga race in her home region of the Swabian Alb in Münsingen. She also came second in the German MTB XCO Championships and was able to record further successes. But even in the team, she noticed her own hurdles and felt how important the environment is for success. In 2012, Elisabeth laid the foundation for the current team and the second company.Elisabeth worked in sales, marketing and team management. She won Notebookbilliger.de as main sponsor, with the condition that she form a UCI team with five professional athletes. Elisabeth managed this with the help of friends. Hard times were still ahead for the athlete. Despite this, Elisabeth still became two-time German champion in 2012 and was able to help her athletes in the team to two more international medals - World Championship silver and European Championship bronze - as well as other national titles. Her personal knowledge and the ability to motivate others and work in a solution-oriented manner are in her blood. The company strategy forced Notebooksbilliger to pull out, but other long-term partners continued to support Elisabeth, and so young, very warm-hearted athletes joined. Together they formed the EBE Racing Team. The name came from her grandmother: "Elisabeth Brandau always has energy," she said. That's why Elisabeth has been giving children the chance to learn something for sport and to develop further since 2013. She is aware that athletes come and go, but the future lies in the hands of the next generation. Her partners are growing, and a team of everyone is also growing, which shows that her commitment was and is the right path. Elisabeth is also integrating herself more into the company and is continuing to expand her knowledge of training, health, leadership, communication and motivation. Her goal is not only to support her team members, but also her partners and their employees. In this way, Elisabeth paved the way for seminars and speaker events. In 2015, Elisabeth was happy about her new role as a mother. Nevertheless, she did not lose sight of her goal, the Olympic Games. Just four weeks after giving birth, she rode in her first race and reached the podium at the German Championships that same year. She learned how to approach goals in a more focused way and become unstoppable. She put the knowledge she had learned to good use herself, and in spring 2016 she became German cyclo-cross champion - the start of a mega season! Despite qualifying for the 2016 Olympics, she was not taken to Rio. The reason was a shortened Olympics (the time between the games) due to childbirth. A participant in the games in Rio was subsequently found guilty of doping, which was of course very sad. Elisabeth decided to expand her family and to train as a naturopath during her second pregnancy. Because she learned that health is the basis for performance in sport and business. In 2017, her second son, Alexander, was born. With Marco at her side as husband, father and mechanic, her passion became the foundation of a small family. Contrary to many recommendations and critical voices to take up sport again, the years 2018 and 2019 were the best of her career so far. Through organized family and professional life and thanks to sponsors, she made it onto the World Cup podium in 2019. So the goal remained the 2020 Olympics! However, nothing went as planned in 2020. Corona postponed the goals to 2021. The effects shook up family and professional life and cost her strength and nerves. But in everything new there is also an opportunity, and there is no giving up! With another German championship title at the end of 2020 and eighth place at the European Championships, the Olympics came closer despite Corona. In 2021, Elisabeth fought her way through despite a lack of sponsors and her job and achieved her goal: the Olympics in Tokyo 2021!As an Olympian, you can be proud, even if you would have liked to win a medal as a top athlete. However, it was a very big challenge for Elisabeth to achieve this while having a family and being self-employed.After 2021, Elisabeth enjoys sport as much as her everyday family life allows - focused and with joy, until her third child, the longed-for girl Annabell, completed the family.Despite everything, Elisabeth Brandau was brave enough to pedal again in 2023. It was supposed to be a certain personal conclusion. Elisabeth achieved further German championship titles and a very good European Championship placing with her three children. In the process, she noticed more and more that her goals were shifting. Her interest is increasingly in supporting others, especially her children, and growing her businesses so that many more people can benefit from her work as a therapist, expert and speaker.
